In each DNS package a different number of zonefiles/domains are included. The number of zonefiles included in the DNS packages can be extended according to the information in step 3 (table 3 below).

With Excedo DNS powered by Dynect queries/month is limited based on your services package. Usage beyond your designated queries/month could result in additional fees according to contract/price list. It is also possible to extended the total amount of queries included according to the information in step 3 (table 3 below).

Record, short for Address Record, maps from an IP address to a domain name. Excedo DNS supports all recognized Records. It is possible to extended the total amount of resource records included according to the information in step 3 (table 3 below).

DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a more secure way of doing look-ups of Internet addresses for e.g. the web and e-mail. In contrast to the usual domain name system (DNS), look-ups with DNSSEC are signed cryptographically, which makes it possible to ensure that they come from the right sender and that the content has not been altered during transmission. The objective of the service is for the domain name registrant to be able to secure his/her domains with DNSSEC.

The Internet is growing at an amazing rate year over year. The current Internet addressing system, Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4), was designed to support approximately 4 billion unique connections to the Internet. As a result of the Internet's explosive growth, a new Internet addressing system, Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), is being rolled out to networks worldwide to support even more connections. There are a number of theories as to when the availability of IPv4 addresses will be exhausted, therefore requiring the rollout of IPv6 to all new and existing Internet systems.

Dynamic DNS (DDNS) is a term used to describe services that alias a dynamic IP Address to a static hostname.

Dynamic DNS updates to add or remove resource records dynamically from a zone data base maintained on an authoritative DNS server. This is useful to register network clients into the DNS when they boot or become otherwise available on the network. Since a booting client may be assigned a different IP address each time from a DHCP server, it is not possible to provide static DNS assignments for such clients.

The HTTP redirect service allows you to perform off domain redirects which means redirecting HTTP traffic from the web server at A.com to the web server at B.com. If needed you can also append port numbers to the destination URL. The HTTP redirect service can not be used with other protocols such as SMTP or FTP. As with all services only Owners and Administrators are able to create or delete the HTTP Redirect service.

With the Management Portal, users can add, remove, and update DNS records from a remote location. The Management Portal is the gateway to getting your service back online if there is a problem - you simply log in, make changes to your domain name´s DNS settings, and publish them to the world, all from your web browser. The Excedo DNS powered by Dynect platform will take care of the rest, rapidly propagating your changes to your user´s web browsers.

Active monitoring ensures that your running at peak performance at all times. You and your staff can easily view usage and status reports to keep everything working and running without a hitch.

The access control list, is a set of permissions for determining who may edit what for a given zonefile. Each zonefile has its own ACL and all zonefiles are created with a dfault ACL to facilitate maximum usability. Account owners and admins may edit the ACL for a zone if they wish to place restrictions on user activity for the zone.

The Dynect Platform supports Round-Robin DNS hostnames through our Load Balance-DNS system. As a front-line load balancer, Load Balance-DNS can be used to distribute load across a pool of servers in one or many locations. Advanced network monitoring allows our systems to detect and repair failures.
